Chocolate drink

Bet you didn’t think that was part of an Ayurvedic regime but I strongly believe in the enjoyment of some of the more “treat” foods in moderation is a good thing. Much more nutritious than milo. Kids love it too just before bed.

Here is a Ayurvedic recipe with chocolate (cacao) for your enjoyment:



  • 2 cups organic whole milk or milk alternative
  • 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of ground ginger
  • Pinch of ground cardamom



  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over low heat.
  2. Whisk in maple syrup and cacao powder until well blended and heated.
  3. Remove from heat, whisk in spices.
